01 — For you

This trip is for you if…

  • you’ve always wanted a real photoshoot, but never felt like a “model”
  • you want a trip where everything is taken care of — and you simply get to be present
  • you love beauty: soft light, the ocean, good food and slow mornings
  • you’re coming on your own or with a friend — the group is small and warm

What you get

  1. Photoshoots with a pro

Anna shoots throughout the trip in soft morning and evening light. No posing experience needed — she’ll gently guide you.

  2. Locations that take your breath away

A foggy laurel forest in Fanal, sunrise above the clouds, black-sand beaches, the red cliffs of São Lourenço and a lighthouse at sunset.

  3. An atmosphere of your own

A villa on the Palheiro estate above Funchal, a group of up to six women, a Future Self practice with an ICF-certified coach, a mindful sunset — and time to simply breathe.

  4. Nothing to organise

Routes, cars and timing are on us. Every evening we check the weather and choose the best plan for the next day.

02 — Programme

Six days, day by day

The rhythm is built around light, beautiful stops, good food and free time.

  1. Madeira’s hillsides from the plane window

    Day 1 · Mon, 9 Nov

Arrival, Funchal & a gentle start

Airport → villa → Funchal Old Town

A soft first day: the market, the colourful doors of the Old Town, the first relaxed photoshoot — and a soul opening on the terrace before the welcome dinner.

In frame: textures of old Funchal, painted doors, warm city light

    Timing of the day
    • Landing in Funchal (direct flight from Porto)
    • We pick up the cars and set off together
    • Late breakfast and a first walk: Mercado dos Lavradores, Rua de Santa Maria
    • Lunch and an unhurried photoshoot in the Old Town
    • Check-in, pool, rest
    • Soul opening on the terrace: getting to know each other, an intention for the trip
    • Welcome dinner

Good to know: The first day is deliberately light — an early flight takes enough energy on its own.

  2. A woman in a white dress on the cliffs of São Lourenço

    Day 2 · Tue, 10 Nov

The wild east & northern villages

São Lourenço → Prainha → Machico → Guindaste → Santana

Red cliffs above the ocean, a black volcanic beach, glass platforms over the north coast and the famous little houses of Santana. Only short walks to the viewpoints.

In frame: red cliffs, black sand, the geometry of Santana’s houses

    Timing of the day
    • Departure after breakfast at the villa
    • Viewpoints of Ponta de São Lourenço — short walks only
    • Prainha black-sand beach: contrast portraits
    • Lunch in Machico: fish and seafood
    • Glass platforms of Miradouro do Guindaste
    • Santana’s traditional houses, coffee with a cliff view at Quinta do Furão
    • Back at the villa, free evening
  3. Sunrise above a sea of clouds in Madeira’s mountains

    Day 3 · Wed, 11 Nov

Sunrise above the clouds & tropical Monte

Pico do Areeiro → villa → Monte

The one early start of the trip — and worth it: dawn above a sea of clouds at 1,818 m. Then a slow breakfast, the Future Self & Intention practice and the gardens of Monte Palace.

In frame: silhouettes on the ridges, back-lit clouds, the lush green of Monte

    Timing of the day
    • Off to the mountains: thermoses, warm layers and blankets in the cars
    • Sunrise and photoshoot at Pico do Areeiro
    • Late breakfast at the villa and rest
    • Soul practice “Future Self & Intention” with Natalia Kondakova (60–75 min) in a beautiful spot in nature
    • Monte Palace Tropical Garden: bridges, tiles, ponds (optional: the traditional toboggan ride down)
    • Dinner in Funchal

Good to know: We make the final call on the sunrise the evening before, based on clouds and wind. In bad weather we swap this day with Day 5.

  4. A woman in a white dress under a laurel tree in the Fanal fog

    Day 4 · Thu, 12 Nov

Fanal, black beaches & the volcanic ocean

Fanal → Porto Moniz → Ribeira da Janela → Seixal → Véu da Noiva

The main atmospheric shoot of the trip — in the ancient laurel forest of Fanal, especially magical in fog. Then natural lava pools, sea stacks and the black sand of Seixal.

In frame: Fanal in the fog, soft light in Seixal

    Timing of the day
    • Departure after breakfast
    • Fanal forest: ancient laurels, mist and a quiet walk
    • Porto Moniz: lunch by the ocean and natural pools (if open and the sea is calm)
    • Sea stacks of Ribeira da Janela
    • Seixal: black sand and green cliff walls
    • Véu da Noiva viewpoint
    • Back in Funchal, dinner at leisure

Good to know: Swimming depends on the waves — but even without it, this route is stunning.

  5. Golden hour by a waterfall on the southwest coast

    Day 5 · Fri, 13 Nov

The warm southwest & sunset at the lighthouse

Câmara de Lobos → Cabo Girão → Ponta do Sol → Calheta / Paul do Mar → Ponta do Pargo

Fishing boats and coffee by the water, a glass skywalk above a sheer cliff, the white facades of Ponta do Sol — and a mindful sunset by the lighthouse before our final group shoot.

In frame: the fishing bay, white facades, an open horizon by the lighthouse

    Timing of the day
    • Slow breakfast at the villa
    • Câmara de Lobos: boats, the bay, narrow streets
    • Cabo Girão Skywalk
    • Lunch and a walk in Ponta do Sol
    • Paul do Mar or Calheta — depending on the light and the mood
    • Mindful sunset at the Ponta do Pargo lighthouse, then the final group photoshoot
    • Farewell dinner
  6. Terracotta roofs and the ocean on Madeira’s south coast

    Day 6 · Sat, 14 Nov

A last morning, a garden & flying home

Villa → Botanical Garden → Funchal → airport

A slow breakfast, the flower terraces of the Botanical Garden, a farewell lunch and a little free time in Funchal before the evening flight.

In frame: flower terraces, a panorama of Funchal, light final portraits

    Timing of the day
    • Slow breakfast, packing, easy shots at the villa
    • Check-out
    • Madeira Botanical Garden: bright final portraits
    • Farewell lunch in Funchal
    • Free time: coffee, shopping, the promenade
    • Off to the airport (flight to Porto at 21:20)

The programme may shift a little with the weather. On Madeira we chase the light, so some days can swap places — every evening we check the forecast and confirm the next day’s route.

Future Self & Intention

Connection to yourself

A gentle mindfulness and coaching practice in which each participant works with her own question. It can be anything that matters to you right now: relationships, self-realisation, money, a new chapter of life, your inner state or a decision you want to feel more clearly.

How it goes

  1. a short attunement — and your personal question
  2. breathing practice and shifting attention into the body
  3. a guided meditation with your question
  4. meeting your Future Self — the version of you who is already where you want to be
  5. working with intention: what do I really want to create or change in my life?
  6. a short written reflection to capture your insights
  7. closing and sharing — only if you wish

About 60–75 minutes · in a beautiful spot in nature or by the ocean

The practice is led by

Natalia Kondakova

An ICF-certified coach (ACC) and a specialist in preventive health and mindfulness practices. More than 500 hours of coaching and international experience, including Mindvalley. In her work she combines coaching, mindfulness, breathing and meditative practices — for a deeper connection with yourself and your true desires.

And one more quiet moment — a mindful sunset

On our last evening, by the Ponta do Pargo lighthouse, we spend a few minutes in silence watching the sun go down — and then comes the final group photoshoot.

Anna Belousova

Anna is a wedding and portrait photographer based in Portugal who shoots across Europe — from Lisbon and Sintra to the Azores and the Canary Islands.

On this trip she is with the group every day and works with soft morning and evening light. You don’t need to know how to pose: Anna gently guides you, and the best frames often happen in between — while you laugh, walk or look at the ocean.

The trip is hosted by Variko (@variko_world): routes, logistics and care for the group — so all you have to do is enjoy the island.

05 — Where we stay

Photos: Palheiro Village

We stay in a villa at Palheiro Village — on a 120-hectare nature estate on a hill above Funchal, about 15 minutes from the city centre and the airport.

Spacious villas with terraces or gardens and views over Funchal and the ocean, a heated outdoor pool — and right next door, the Palheiro Gardens, one of the most beautiful gardens on Madeira.

07 — FAQ

Good questions

How do I get there — and are flights included?

Flights aren’t included. The group flies a direct easyJet flight from Porto: 9 November OPO 06:45 → FNC 08:50, back on 14 November FNC 21:20 → OPO 23:20. When we checked, it was around €57 return — please check the fare and baggage before paying. Flying from another city? Tell us in the form and we’ll help you match the group’s arrival.

Is it physically demanding?

No. This isn’t a fitness tour: only short walks to viewpoints, no long hikes or workouts. There’s one special early start — the sunrise in the mountains; everything else follows a relaxed rhythm, with time to change, breathe out and enjoy the pool.

What should I pack?

Layers: the coast is warm, but at dawn in the mountains it’s cold and windy, so bring a warm jacket. Comfortable non-slip shoes, a raincoat, swimwear, sunscreen and sunglasses. For the shoots — 2–4 outfits you feel beautiful in: flowing dresses, natural fabrics, calm colours. We’ll send a detailed list after booking.

Can I come on my own?

Of course. The group is small — up to six women — and we get to know each other on the very first evening. The rhythm leaves room both for company and for time alone. You can share a room with one of the girls or choose single occupancy (+€200).

What’s the weather like in November?

Mild: in Funchal it’s usually around 19–23 °C during the day and the ocean is about 21 °C. Short showers are possible, and it’s much cooler in the mountains at dawn. The sun rises around 07:30 and sets around 18:10 — we plan the main shoots for the soft morning and evening light.

What if the weather is bad?

Madeira’s weather changes quickly, and the north and the south of the island can have completely different weather on the same day. That’s why the programme is flexible: some days can swap places, and every evening we check the forecast, webcams and roads and choose the best route for tomorrow.

Do I need to know how to pose?

Not at all. Anna gently guides you through every shoot — where to stand, how to move, where to look — so you can simply be yourself.
